Untouchable po ba sila cory at danding at hindi magawang batikusin ng media about these two massacres?
  • hopeless_race : Kapag napaguusapan ang mendiola at hacienda luisita massacre ay parang walang nangyari at parang hindi big deal. Anu po ba ang pinagkaiba ng dalawang nabanggit na massacre sa maguindanao massacre?

Mimi Miyagi for governor:
The right to bear arms and breasts

Posted by: Sheila Coronel | June 25, 2006 at 12:07 am
Filed under: General, In the News

SHE’S hot, sexy and a Filipino-American single mother who went to college in Bukidnon. A card-carrying member of the Republican Party and the National Rifle Association, she is also running for governor of Nevada.

Melody Damayo, 32, better known as Mimi Miyagi, is an ex-porn star. She is the busty, sizzling, Japanese manga-looking sex queen in such triple-X-rated films as “China Vagina” and “Seoul Train.” She is also probably the only candidate whose vital statistics are available all over the Web: 36 DD (although one website article, “The Humongous Mammaries of Mimi Miyagi,” claims a jaw-dropping 44 DD)-23-35.

In her films and in her current line of work as Vegas stripper and entrepreneur, Damayo panders to the Western stereotype of the Asian sex kitten. Or maybe sex tiger is more appropriate: After all, in the world of exotic erotica, Mimi Miyagi is known as a specialist in anal and lesbian sex.

And strange as it may seem, she is a hard-core Republican. Damayo is a firm believer in George Bush (although she criticizes his handling of the Iraq War), lower taxes and the right to carry guns (Hello, Charlton Heston). She also wants tougher police action against crime, including a crackdown on stalkers and wife beaters.

“I’m a Republican because I love to bear arms and breasts!” she told reporters. Her campaign website lists down her positions on terrorism, the economy, homeland security and other issues.

In Nevada, Mimi is making waves. When she filed her candidacy for governor in May, she came attired in a hot pink suit, matching heels and pillbox hat, recalling Jackie Kennedy or Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde” — except that her jacket was cut so low, Jackie is probably having seizures in her grave.

Mimi has been interviewed by MSNBC and endorsed by Wonkette, the popular Washington, D.C. blog that specializes in political gossip and humor. (Says Wonkette: “Do we really need any more reason to endorse her? She’s a f____ing PORN STAR. Running for GOVERNOR OF NEVADA. As a REPUBLICAN.”)

In her interviews, Damayo comes across as as bright, articulate and supremely sure of herself. Sounding more like a candidate than the “Asian Goddess” her website proclaims her to be, this is what she told Wonkette, “I want my daughter to grow up in a state that she can feel safe in as well as keep up a good education. Money Magazine has stated Nevada at the bottom of the pole as far as education falls. It’s well at the number of around 460th. Teachers are leaving the state in numerous amounts. I want to bring balance into the state and its budget. Not by taxing those that are so called un-united voters such as entertainers. But by perhaps taxing by the vote of the people to fix the $704 million dollar deficit we have.”

For sure, despite the Asian typecasting in her adult films, Mimi Miyagi is not quite Madame Butterfly. She has far more chutzpah and certainly bears a lot more flesh ( “I have nothing left to hide,” she told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “My slogan is, ‘I’m bare and honest at all times.”)

Damayo actually turns the Oriental woman stereotype on its head. Sex kitten she may be, but she is no pushover. In fact, she boasts that her record as an entrepreneur makes her ideally suited to administer Nevada’s finances. She produces adult films, publishes an adult magazine (originally called Oriental Dolls and described as “an erotic Asian magazine”, now retitled Asian Hotties), and markets a variety of goods on the Internet, including lacy underwear and flesh-tone plaster casts of her backside.

According to a Wikipedia entry, parts of which look like they were cribbed from the Mimi Mayago website, Melody Damayo was born in Davao City in 1973, immigrated to the US with her parents when she was a child, and was sent back to Mindanao to finish high school and take up college courses in a Seventh Day Adventist college in Bukidnon.

Wikipedia tells the rest of her life story thus:

“Mimi came across an ad looking for nude models and answered it, thus beginning her rise in the adult film industry. When Mimi first started out in the industry, she was repeatedly told that there just wasn’t a market for Asian adult stars (originally, Mimi claimed to be ethnic Japanese, which is more in line with her actual facial features than Filipino), but she was determined and refused to give up. And even though Mimi was always the least paid actress on the set, she continued knocking on studio producers doors… Mimi also had several surgeries to increase her natural “B” cup breasts to “DD” size.

The enhanced breasts may have given her a boost in the adult-film business, but they can sometimes be a liability. As Damayo wrote in her website: “My boobs wouldn’t fit past the sunroof, they had some weird security on it. This is all that got through. Believe me, we tried. Hard, very hard.”

Mimi is too pretty to just become another politician. Possibility? Remember that Italian Porn star who won a seat in Italian Parliament and she was not even as good as Mimi. Believe me, I’ve seen that one in Action. But what about this being in favor of bearing both guns and breast? American would rather bear guns than their breast. In some states and localities carrying guns in person is still not allowed and that is the problem with their laws, it is not uniform accross the country. One state resident can cross the bordering states freely, but is covered by different set of laws. And their women still get charged for indecent exposure for bearing breast in public. And it’s ok for their men. That was ruled against the Equality Rights, when one brave soul challenged that law in Canada by intentionally bearing her breast in Public. She was charged and convicted in lower court (purposely) and was reversed an appeal to higher court with a simple argument that it violates her Equality rights to the man. (heard any man charged for exposing his breast?) The Court Agreed. But to this day, everytime I walk downtown in a hot and humid day, I’m looking forward of seeing the flood of bare breasted women (not a Lesbian gardemit, I’m straight) but no luck yet even it’s no longer unlawful. Just in case Mimi read this, if you ever visit Ontario, Toronto in particular, you may bear those DD and you don’t have to worry, The Cops will be ready with their Cell Phone Cameras. So am I, but with high resolution Digital.

Naykika, when that day comes, I mean the flood of bare-breasted women, just shout it out here in PCIJ, I’m off to Canada on the next flight.

On Mimi, I hope she wins. I hope the Nevada conservationists won’t take it against her for depleting the earth of its silicone.

She’s very open, well-rounded, firm, warm, and beautiful. No, I’m not talking about her breasts.. only! Mabuhay ang Pinoy!

Dang, I just don’t know what to say. Should I laugh or be saddened? Quite frankly, this is very funny and entertaining. Wonder how many Filipinos would actually vote for Melody if she were to run for President in 2010 against Ping or DeCastro.

wew! she studied in Bukidnon?! Bat di kami nag meet? hehe.
What can say … it’s her right!

I don’t understand these views: “Mabuhay ang Filipino”? “[T]urns the Oriental woman stereotype on its head”? For starters, she’s a porn star, so why do you think she’d be a capable governor? And if someone like her would run, say, for a similar position in the Philippines, would you still sound so happy?

danzigstorer wrote on June 27, 2006 - 1:29 am | Visit Link

I’m thinking of going to the Bahamas but I think I’ll just head to Vegas instead!!! It’s been a long time since I saw a double D… he.. he.. he!!! (We are all serious and it’s good that once in while we have a good humor in this blog. We deserve a break)

But honestly, it her right and if the people vote for her then so be it! She’s of age, can read and write and a U.S. citizen - the only qualifications needed to run for governorship in think all the states in the U.S. Who knows???

CARRY ON MIMI but make sure nobody pricks your size D baloon during your campaignI!!!

Danzigstorer, Erap made a lot of his fans very happy when he ran for President. Surely Mimi will have made a lot of her fans happy too. Ask Ambuot who’s now headed to Vegas; he just changed his mind about going to the Bahamas. Do you have any idea how many Filipinos are in search of double D? hehe

Dito na lang kayo sa Vancouver, sa Wreck Beach..one of the best nude beaches in the world. Pag sabay-sabay lumusong sa dagat ang mga may size D kagaya ni Mimi, biglang nagkaka high tide.

Yeah, Scud, I missed Wreck Beach last time I was in BC. I was in the wrong place, spent 3 days at Whistler skiing and all the good-looking chicks wrapped up in thick winter clothes. Boring.

Danzigstorer: “I don’t understand these views: “Mabuhay ang Filipino”?“[T]urns the Oriental woman stereotype on its head”?

Me: Don’t take it too seriously, Danz. This is a humor post. Tell me, what’s the oriental woman stereotype?

Danzigstorer: “…she’s a porn star, so why do you think she’d be a capable governor?”

Me: I don’t. But Mimi’s co-pornstress Illona Staller a.k.a. Cicciolina was elected MP in Italy. She rose to fame when
she campaigned for Parliament topless. Not one to rest on her laurels, she recently showed up at the Vatican for a meeting with the Pope… again, topless.

The Pope met her at the gate. “Dear lady!”, he said, “You can’t
come in here like that!”

“And why not?”, Staller asked. “This is a church, and I have a
divine right!”

“Hey,” the Pope replied, “You have a magnificent left, too, but you STILL can’t come in here like that!”

That’s a joke, of course.

Danzigstorer: “And if someone like her would run, say, for a similar position in the Philippines, would you still sound so happy?”

Me: Happy, maybe. Especially so if she runs in my district…and campaigns topless! But how I will vote will be another story. The other pornstar-governor wannabe, though unsuccessful, Mary Carey, ran in California in 2003. She was successful, however, in her PR bid. She solicited “private meetings” with “campaign donors” on her website and probably sent her “going price” to skyrocket.

A pornstar for president? Why not! We already have a bitch sitting as one.

tongue in, anew wrote on June 28, 2006 - 5:59 am | Visit Link

Here’s another one.

Swedish politico Goeran Eurenius was caught with his pants down when the Goteborg-Posten, a daily newspaper, revealed that he had moonlighted as a porn star.

The 47-year-old Eurenius is a local councilor in Haerryda, 310 miles southwest of Stockholm, and has “acted” in at least 14 pornographic movies.

Now, that’s nothing compared to our locals. No, we don’t have politicians moonlighting as porn studs, what they steal from us in one term is much much more than what a local “X Scandal VCD”-actor may make in his lifetime.

But we do have a lot of prostitutes in Congress, in fact, 156 of them sold themselves last year!

Probably just a publicity stunt to squeeze out more DVD sales. I doubt if she’s serious imho.

tm6997 wrote on July 4, 2006 - 11:05 pm | Visit Link

To Tongue, I’m sorry, but it’s an incredibly lame joke. We find it tittilating the first time it happens, but the novelty wears off after we’ve had our share of entertainers running for public office.

What is the stereotype of an “Oriental woman”? Apparently, she’s a non-porn star who will not try to run as governor by showing off her breasts. Thus, breaking the stereotype means starring in porn films and then using that to run for public office. That’ll certainly boost the image of Filipinas worldwide! (Is that supposed to be humorous, too?)

Finally, why would you want someone like her to run as President of our country given your implication that she is no different from our current President? Unless, of course, you support the current President.

danzigstorer wrote on July 15, 2006 - 3:38 am | Visit Link

I forgive you. As I said, this was a humor post. I won’t stop you from taking it seriously. Loosen up. An oil change will do it.

Republicans love big guns…

From the Why The Hell Not? Department: This makes me wanna move to Nevada. Former porn star Mimi Miyagi is running for Governor of Nevada. And as a Republican, no less! This just may change what GOP stands for. I don’t know what her qualifications ar….

reverse_vampyr wrote on July 20, 2006 - 11:59 pm | Visit Link

I’m sorry, but you still don’t get it. Government is supposed to be taken seriously. Voting and the election process is no laughing matter.

My guess is that you have gotten so used to the fact that the democratic process in the Philippines is a joke that you now laugh at anything that resembles it.

You mentioned that this porn star is no different from the people who run the Philippine government. Do you find that horrible fact funny, or have you given up and decided to “loosen up” because “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”?
