Untouchable po ba sila cory at danding at hindi magawang batikusin ng media about these two massacres?

Clicking on your individual Audio Sets gets me to the homepage of Rapid Share entitled “Ad-financed 1-Click Webhosting + Webspace” but not to the download itself.

@mda - scroll down the page and click the FREE button then wait for you download link to appear at the bottom of the page.

jepoy wrote on June 12, 2005 - 8:04 pm | Visit Link

You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the “Free” button to select the type of download. You’ll then be directed to a similar-looking page, which is actually the download page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page again to find the link to the file.

I also heard about this from DZBB. Salamat po!

I belong to the middle-class. I did not vote for FPJ nor GMA but I pity the man– he probably died sa sama ng loob!

30% of my income (and millions of others) goes to the gov’t. coffers and this is what I/we get? Are we just going to watch by the sidelines? There’s really nothing much we can do but come to think of it, if the sitting president is someone other than GMA, hell surely would have broke loose!

Quezon, Aguinaldo, Ninoy (and even Marcos– talo sya sa kadayaan) may be turning in their graves! This cannot go on for another 5 years.

Nasan yon? The NPA and Abu Sayaff have been killing innocent civilians. Isn’t it about time they change tactics?

Just curious, Alecks, did you guys debate the wisdom of posting the audio tapes online, especially from the standpoint of legal liability?

chin wrote on June 12, 2005 - 11:25 pm | Visit Link

We sure did, Chin. We wouldn’t risk inviting a legal case without having first consulted among ourselves and sought the advice of lawyers. Thanks for your concern.

Hopefully, the proper filing of a criminal/impeachment case against GMA, Barbers, Espina, Garcillano, etc. will be expedited. The stupid middle class keep answering back with “Who will you replace GMA with?.” This moronic reaction reflects how irresponsible they are, including the so-called civil society. A wrong is a wrong is a wrong. Damn you all!

carmel wrote on June 13, 2005 - 10:45 am | Visit Link

i hope we do not get to impeachment process. i’m still hoping that gma will be hit by lightning and resign. richard nixon resigned for less than what gma has done.

impeachment hearings would be long and drawn out and would cost us more than just the expenses therefor.

unfortunately, de castro is next in the line of succession. he has to be it. like it or not ( i dont) but that for me is the most expedient way without having an edsa [n].

Hello a new poster here. ^_^ I like what masha said. As gloria said, she is not ‘moved’ by the ‘threats.’ So what will move her? We need to take the kingdom by force. Sometimes its scary.. sometimes its dangerous.. sometimes its sad.. I hope the politicians dont forget the great works of the people before us.. Jose Rizal.. Bonifacio.. and all the others. We need a whole new change. I apologize for my statements if i may seem to call for violence or war. But im just saying that we need to do something. The Filipino people dont deserve to suffer. Taking the kingdom by force has alot in it. Godbless and takecare all.

I agree with Carmel that the wobbling civil society must now take a definitive stand, or the situation may become irreversible. On the other hand, we do need the wisdom of Solomon to get out of the mess of our own doings.

Wilson wrote on June 13, 2005 - 11:46 am | Visit Link

Hmmm… argh. I missed out on downloading. It marked me with a 1 hour wait, when I haven’t even downloaded the thing, hahaha.

Anyway, I’ll set up a torrent for the files if I manage to get them. It’ll be easier for the people to access the tapes that way.

Or better yet, for those who already have the tapes, please make a torrent of it so we can better distribute it.

Let the people decide on what exactly is the truth! Wahoo.

Kamiyu Bidan wrote on June 13, 2005 - 12:43 pm | Visit Link

you have to look at this crisis as a test of our judicial system. now is the time to adhere to the law! now more than ever! hoping that gloria resigns is ok but she is a political animal - she will never resign!

carmel wrote on June 13, 2005 - 12:58 pm | Visit Link

EDSA 4?? Impossible…why? Gloria used thousands of soldiers to scatter around Metro Manila just to assure her that all anti-GMA rally would be dispersed…The latter shows that we are no longer in a democratic country. She acts as a dictator only covered by the term president. Her actions and he audio CD only confirms her guilt. Her rudeness in her interviews shows that she is guilty. Her moves (i.e. the NTC order, arrest of Ong, using Vidal) only lead to one direction - GMA is GUILTY OF CHEATING in the 2004 PRESIDENTIAL POLLS!

“No Permit No Rally” - A policy used by a leader who is afraid of rallies. Like GMA, she is afraid of KARMA!

What goes around comes around!

Let’s face it. There nothing the Filipinos can do to remove a bogus President so long as you have Senators and Congressmen
willing to sell their souls to the devil. These people are not supporting Mrs. Arroyo for nothing, do you agree ? Favors or Money will change hands again for their unconditional support.
They don’t follow anymore the words of the late President Quezon : ” My loyalty to my party ends when my loyalty to my country begins “. But I admire Mrs. Arroyo, she still has the face to meet other bona fide elected foreign leaders, when she’s not.
Ang kapal..

Have you seen the article on Inq7.net (June 15, 2005 issue) lately? It contains the downloadable Palace-released recordings of the conversations between “Gary” and a certain “Mike”, “Gary” and allegedly “PGMA”. (http://news.inq7.net/breaking/index.php?index=1&story_id=39543)

If you listen to them closely you would probably come up with the same conclusion as I did. That the conversations released by the palace which they said are original are the ones that sounds altered.

The alleged altered recording sound more original. Because the constancy of the noise in the background and the fluidity of the conversation between “Mike” and “Gary” and “Gary” and “PGMA” sound more authentic, which is not the case for the supposedly Palace-released original phone conversations.

You decide.

kudos to pcij for this fearless act! all the tv stations which initially aired portions of the tape ceased broadcasting the tapes, without putting up any “resistance”. ang duduwag nila! why are they so afraid of the legal threats from NTC? i agree that the paramount interest of the citizens to be informed of issues that affect the legitimacy of this government is a constitutionally guaranteed right that takes precedence over the right to privacy. in the hierarchy of rights, the right of freedom of expression, which is the bulwark of a democratic government, is above all other private rights.

unfortuntely i am unable to download the tapes for whatever technical reason :)

And as a public servant, they are subject sa pgbabantay ng mamamayan.

It shall be unlawful for any person, not being authorized by all the parties to any private communication or spoken word, to tap any wire or cable, or by using any other device or arrangement, to secretly overhear, intercept, or record such communication or spoken word by using a device commonly known as a dictaphone or dictagraph or dectaphone or walkie-talkie or tape recorder, or however otherwise described:

It shall also be unlawful for any person, be he a participant or not in the act or acts penalized in the next preceding sentence, to knowingly possess any tape record, wire record, disc record, or any other such record, or copies thereof, of any communication or spoken word secured either before or after the effective date of this Act in the manner prohibited by this law; or to replay the same for any other person or persons; or to communicate the contents thereof, either verbally or in writing, or to furnish transcriptions thereof, whether complete or partial, to any other person: Provided, That the use of such record or any copies thereof as evidence in any civil, criminal investigation or trial of offenses mentioned in section 3 hereof, shall not be covered by this prohibition.

The Pesident’s men are using this legal cloak (RA 4200) to shield her ass. They seem (NTC, NBI) to move swiftly these days just to save the queen from losing her throne. If this happens to any Juan de la Cruz, it would take the sun and the moon before they would issue a comment or lift a finger to enforce the Anti-Wiretapping Law. The President inadvertently admitted, through the actions of her men, that it was her voice in the taped conversation.

wiretapped (illegally acquired) evidence, even how damning, will not stand in the courts. sad but true.

oinkquirer_com wrote on June 18, 2005 - 10:11 am | Visit Link

that may be so but one point that is still to be determined is if the tapping of garcillano were really without authorization. one theory goes that gma’s camp ordered the bugging for fear of being palyed by garci.

secondly, hopefully we do not get to the courts and that gma will resign.

also, i have to ask, if congress doe impeach gloria if the rules of court would apply to the hearings.

but more importantly, before the recordings become inadmissible as evidence or be considered illegal, the subjects must declare that they did not give permission to be tapped/taped whcih would mean an admission that it is them in the first place. if they admit, then they’re dead meat.

GMA must stay on the sidelines as her allies and her detractors fight it out in the political and legal arenas. She must stay silent re the issue of the alleged wire-tapped conversation. Whoever her legal advisers are, they’re good. Can you imagine if she’s fallen prey to the various calls for her to make a categorical statement re this issue? If she says “yes, i was the voice on the tape” — she can kiss her presidency goodbye. However, if she says “no, it’s not me in the tapes” and the opposition is wont to prove her wrong — sending the tapes to FBI or Scotland Yard for authentication, and in the highly probable chance that they pronounce it’s GMA’s voice and the tape is unedited or unaltered, can you imagine her dilemma then?
She’d be committing 2 crimes. In the first is an offense of electoral fraud which may or may not probable in court; the other a case of perjury.
Now, who would want and respect a president who, by then, will have become a liar and a cheat?

I noticed that majority of the people here sorta “hate” GMA… so therefore it is possible for me to conclude that majority did not vote for her in this election.. hence my question: IF MAJORITY OF THE POPULACE DID NOT VOTE FOR HER, HOW COME WE DID NOT NOTICE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE? ‘coz as of now I hear people say that they did not vote for her.. (Btw, I was not yet of legal age to vote during the elections..) just pondering..

Also, wag naman po sana edsa revolution ng edsa revolution, kc nasisira yung kagandahan nung first EDSA… ngaun kasi basta di natin gusto ang nandun.. EDSA diretso ang iniisip.. But I do Hope Justice will prevail and that the will of the people will be followed.. I believe that’s the foundation of democracy right?

And it was, for a warmup, in high gear. Banners, effigies, monochrome umbrellas painted with letters spelling out OUST GLORIA. There was a sprinkling of white confetti from one of the buildings at one point. And, of course, there was the music. On and on, while the main stage was prepping up, sound systems atop jeeps in other corners of the avenue played, alternately, The Tape, and popular tunes whose words have been customized for the occasion.
