Untouchable po ba sila cory at danding at hindi magawang batikusin ng media about these two massacres?
  • hopeless_race : Its sad that we pinoys are blind to the fact of what had happened in mendiola and hacienda luisita.

This is very rampant here in Marikina. Thanks and more power on your noble endeavors. We need people like you to have make our country great again.

NTC reminder

Posted by: Yvonne Chua | June 12, 2005 at 6:15 pm
Filed under: In the News

HERE’S the press release the National Telecommunications Commission issued after Atty. Samuel Ong announced in a press conference last Friday that he had in his possession the "mother of all tapes":

"In view of the unusual situation the country is in today, the National Telecommunications Commission calls for sobriety among the operators and management of all radio and television stations in the country and reminds them, especially all broadcasters, to be careful and circumspect in the handling of news reportage, coverages of current affairs and discussion of public issues, by strictly adhering to the pertinent laws of the country, the current program standards embodied in radio and television codes and the existing circulars of the NTC.

"It has come to the attention of the commission that certain personalities are in possession of alleged taped conversations, which they claim involve the President of the Philippines and a commissioner of the Comelec regarding their supposed violation of election laws. These personalities have admitted that the taped conversations are product of illegal wiretapping operations.

"Considering that these taped conversations have not been duly authenticated nor could it be said at this time that the tapes contain an accurate or truthful representation of what was recorded therein, it is the position of the commission that the continuous airing or broadcast of the said taped conversations by radio and television stations is a continuing violation of the anti-wiretapping law and the conditions of the provisional authority and/or certificate of authority issued to these radio and television stations.

"If it has been subsequently established that the said tapes are false and/or fraudulent after a prosecution or appropriate investigation, the concerned radio and television companies are hereby warned that their broadcast/airing of such false information and/or willful misrepresentation shall be just cause for the suspension, revocation and/or cancellation of the licenses or authorizations issued to the said companies.

"All radio broadcasting and television stations shall, during any broadcast or telecast, cut off from the air the speech, play, act or scene or other matters being broadcast and/or telecast if the tendency thereof is to disseminate false information or such other willful misrepresentation, or inciting, encouraging or assisting in subversive or treasonable acts."

sagutin lang ang accusations ng opposition. ipakita sa boung sambayanang pilipino na mali ang pinaratang ng kabilang grupo. we are living in a democratic country at hindi pwedeng pigilan ang media na magsalita. yan ang nagbibigay inpormasyon sa tao. huwag daanin sa takutan. intiende

nice NTC. hey GMA, what are you afraid of kung “peke” ba naman yung tape?

I dare the major tv networks and radio stations to disobey the gov’t ban and play those tapes, and let the people and the experts decide kung tunay o peke yan.

carmel wrote on June 13, 2005 - 12:47 am | Visit Link

This NTC circular will only add fire and greater interest in the issue and encourage more people to look for the tapes/CD by downloading them thru the internet or buying them from pirate CD stores. This is as stupid as stupid gets! We are now living in the 21st century. Let the people listen to the tapes and decide for themselves. Let the truth set us free.

hector wrote on June 13, 2005 - 7:45 am | Visit Link

walang magagawa ang adiministration ngaun dahil the damage is already there eh. What the NTC is doing is noble but aint enough to stop us from acquiring the alleged tape conversation.

lexlover wrote on June 13, 2005 - 8:16 am | Visit Link

The Truth shall prevail on this issue..They cannot stop the television, radio and internet in disseminating the facts concerning our country today…The Gov’t will really do their move to stop the evidence out of reach to the filipinos. As the saying goes ” The THIFT is afraid of their own SHADOW…Today is the 107th Independence Day for the Philippines…but its just a celebration not a mere thought of creating or realizing the root of our independence…so NTC…the truth shall prevail…Airing of the alleged tape conversation shall be aired in the national TV and radios for the nation’s interest.

Hey are we back to MARTIAL LAW? I was born on 1978 never felt what Marcos did. But seeing things now what the heck did Ninoy come back for??? Even her wife now seems to be supporting it.

Where are the silent majority? What they are thinking of right now? Its time to go to the street and demands the removal from office of gloriaetta. She don’t have the mandate in the first place. She already losses her credibility when she declares not to run for presidency. No need to prove them on tape, wiretap or not. Nobody listen to Senator Pimentel when he objected to the posting of Garci to Comelec weeks before the election because of his personal dagdag-bawas experience with the man. Don’t expect from sitting administration officials, they are party to gloriaetta’s illigitimate presidency. They will do all they can to protect their number one patron because most of them are all liars.

juanday wrote on June 13, 2005 - 7:24 pm | Visit Link

When you have illigitimate president then you also have illigitimate government. When you have illigitimate government then everything legal is illegal. When you are seeking for truth, they will destroy you by digging your grandmother’s grave looking for bad things about you and used them against you. They will not respond to issues you raised but destroy your credibility inch by inch including you hidden badbreath. During Marcos time they will brand you as communist when you said something bad to his presidency, now under Gloriaetta you are distabilizer, coup plotter or enemy of the state and deserved to be vanished from this land. What a stinking nation we have right now. And we allowed them to be.

juanday wrote on June 13, 2005 - 7:49 pm | Visit Link

what are they afraid of? kung di talaga s Madam Pres. un eh bat sila implement ng ganyan. Dapat ung mga false information and other willful misrepresentation na yan ay i-clear ni Madam Pres. for her to regain the thrust of the masses and not the business sector only.

Another case of lying to the max (just picked up from the INQ7.net). Si Bunye niloloko na naman tayo.
……………..Palace says it can’t reverse NTC ban on airing of tapes
Bunye wonders if move is ‘prudent’

MALACAÑANG on Tuesday said it could not do anything to reverse the order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) banning broadcast stations from airing the controversial taped conversation of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said that while he was “sympathetic” to the plight of broadcast stations, a Palace intervention with the NTC could be seen as dictating upon the agency.

“It might be better if you will directly communicate with them because you are the ones affected,” Bunye said in a radio interview when asked if he, as a former journalist, could use his “moral suasion” on the NTC on grounds that its order could be an infringement of press freedom.

Bunye said the NTC has its own regulatory powers over broadcast stations. However, he raised the issue of whether the use of this regulatory power was wise or not “given the prevailing circumstances these days.”

President Joseph Ejercito Estrada is still the Duly Elected President - no reignation was filed and GMA was placed into power without a legal basis or unconstitutional…. Why are they asking to follow the constitution when they did not follow it in the first place?

Upto this date, President Estrada is still the legitimate and the duly elected president of the Republic of the Philippines…

1.) Illegeal ang pagka president ni arroyo nung 2001.
2.) Invalidated ang 2004 presidential polls dahil sa cheating.

jade wrote on June 15, 2005 - 12:18 am | Visit Link

Well, as of now since the 2004 Presidential Polls in considered invalid once GMA is proven guilty. Who is the legitimate president for now?

“Lord, free us from the hands of steel of Mrs. Arroyo, Let the truth be granted upon us that we shall all be free from the lies and deception made by this leader/dictator. Grant us the freedom we deserve as citizens of a democratic country and that no more threats, conspiracy and overuse of power in this administration, Amen”

Let us pray all together for the restoration of the freedom that we truly deserve and that the truth will come out…. Our country should be re-established after this scandal.

gma doesnt know what to do. if she admits she is the one in the tape. she’s out. if she doesnt and the tapes are officially authenticated. she’s out rin. loss-loss siya dito. she’s buying time trying to think of how to get herself out of the hole she’s in. ang mahirap pa, nagpapaniwala siya sa mga (ex) heneral at chu-chu niyang advisers na takot ring mawala sa poder tulad ni angelo reyes na kaka confitm lang ng appointment. ang saya pa naman niya.

she should look to nixon who was able to attain some respectability in his lifetime because he spared his country from a prolonged process to impeach him.

nip this in the bud, i say. and if she truly loves her country then spare us the turmoil and divisiveness of an impeachment case.

The NTC order is just a technique to buy time for GMA, not to harden pressure in deciding for her next move.. The clock is ticking, just a like a game of chess for GMA, she will be checkmated if she does a wrong move.

If the opposition would add more pressure on her to distruct her thinking the NTC order is useless.

The past days i’ve learned about the following facts: Iggy and Mikey Arroyo are quick to deny their involvement in jueteng. Garcillano as well denied that it was not his voice on the tape. Sabi ng mga supporters ni Gloria airing the tapes would be a breach of National Security, but here in our end we SHOUT its a BREACH OF NATIONAL INTEREST tanong namin dito Ikaw ba Madam Gloria ang nasa tape? Nakakatulog pa ba kayo ng mahimbing?
