Untouchable po ba sila cory at danding at hindi magawang batikusin ng media about these two massacres?
- hopeless_race : Its sad that we pinoys are blind to the fact of what had happened in mendiola and hacienda luisita.

- jazzymuver : how did Arroyo swallow that kind of things!! how come that she just spend the money our countrymen for her own sake!!
- guest_3664 : i would be glad if u can include the investigation of the manner public officials announce infra projects as per COA regulation. It is frustrating to see their faces on the tarpaulin instead of the prescribed information like name of project, date of implementation, amount of contract, source/s of fund, among other things. This is very rampant here in Marikina. Thanks and more power on your noble endeavors. We need people like you to have make our country great again.

Eight Cabinet members quit, call on GMA to resign

SAYING they were doing so “with deep concern and firm resolve,” eight Secretaries and two senior revenue officials had announced they were leaving Arroyo’s Cabinet and called on the President to resign her office. The group of Cabinet secretaries include the administration’s economic managers as well as those in-charge of the social welfare and peace portfolios. They were:
- Florencio Abad, Education
- Juan Santos, Trade and Industry
- Cesar Purisima, Finance
- Emilia Boncodin, Budget and Management
- Imelda Nicolas, National Anti-Poverty Commission
- Ging Deles, Peace Adviser
- Dinky Soliman, Social Welfare and Development
- Rene Villa, Agrarian Reform
- Alberto Lina, Bureau of Customs
- Guillermo Parayno, Bureau of Internal Revenue
“The President had preempted our moves. This preemption does not change our conviction that her decisions as of late are guided mainly by her determination to survive as President,” the group said in a statement read by Purisima. They called on the people to unite behind Vice President Noli de Castro, the constitutional successor to Arroyo.
The President can be part of the solution to this crisis by making the supreme sacrifice for God and country to voluntarily relinquish her office and allow her constitutional successor, the Vice President, to assume the presidency…This is the least disruptive and painful option that can swiftly restore normalcy and eventually will bring us to prosperity.

[...] The LP has among its members former Secretaries Florencio Abad and Rene Villa, two of those who announced this morning that they were leaving the Cabinet. Other party members are Secretaries Mike Defensor and Rigoberto Tiglao who are remaining with the President. [...]
bayonic, there are 32.
[...] This is an extremely dangerous game they’re playing. The parties are divided and the lines are drawn clearly. With the resignation of the “doves”, Gloria has lost the part of her cabinet that was actually getting the work done. Now all the other remaining cabinet members are standing firm and deploring those who resigned as “adventiurists and traitors”. [...]
The signs of the times suggest that we have to amend our constitution and pave a way for a new (hopefully better) form of goverment. time and again, we have seen our politics come and go with the same outcome and that is: our politicians are only after their personal interests albeit under the guise of “serving the people”.
it is disheartening to see how they jossle for political power with that intention and purpose. its about time that our country move on to a more progressive direction devoid of the same political crocodiles that try to impress on us decency, credibilty and personal commitment to work for the common good of the people. it has never been the case and it will never be in the light of our present situation.
the balance of power or lack of it is becoming a vicious cycle.the proponents for change when given the chance to prove their worth still do the same thing that they have abhored in the first place. the people are left at the sidelines every now and then watching this “war of the worlds” (we even know the ending more often than not).
having said this in the context of what is currently happening with the present crisis, it is just but proper that GMA indeed resign if she still has self respect and delicadeza.but who else in the present government, the senate and congress isnt like her in “color” and “lapses of judgment”. they are just the same rotten apples waiting for the chance to be at the helm, to take advantage and start “working” at it again until further notice. at least they are called honorable for all of these.
cheers to a federalism? well….
bakit ganon? yung mga matitino ang umalis??… sila ba talaga ang target nung “reorganize” na sinasabi nya???… i was expecting angie reyes, ebdane, mendoza and neri to resign, hindi itong matitinong ‘to!!!!
teka… teka… teka…
major LAPSE IN JUDGMENT to… as in ultra-mega-MAJOR-MAJOR.
[...] THE resignation this morning of ten Cabinet members has opened the floodgates for various groups to echo calls for President Arroyo to step down. In a single press conference, the Makati Business Club (MBC) and a coalition of NGOs issued their respective statements, both of which vouched for the integrity and competence of the Secretaries who had quit and asking the President to resign. [...]
Buti nga k Juan Santos, the guy who issued the DTI non-commital “clearance” (not a declaration, hehe pyramid pa rin!) for the pyramid First Quadrant.
buwayas of the same skin group together.
asan si dick gordon?
The 10 resignations are not enough.
The 10 former secretaries are not traitors as what GMA loyalist are saying. For me, they are heroes. They sacrificed their positions for the interest of majority - the Filipino people. I salute them especially Ms. Dinky Soliman, who stood her principle and conviction inspite of her closeness to GMA. She is least expected in the group of Purisima. I thought it will be Sto. Tomas. But I disagree w/ the appointment of Noli De Castro - parang nagpalit ng t’shirt na pareho lang ng brand. I heard Noli & Mike Arroyo talked and settled matters for their self-interest in Hong Kong.
GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY!!!
Unrest
I wonder how things will work out. Seems like we’re having another sort of reveolution. Check out PCIJ’s July archives for the skinny on the events that are transpiring because of Gloriagate.
[...] The resignation this morning of eight Cabinet members and two senior revenue officials took the political initiative out of Congress and raised the issue to a higher level. The question now is no longer just the president’s probable involvement in electoral fraud. It has been elevated to Mrs. Arroyo’s ability to govern, given the “cloud of doubt and mistrust” that hangs over her presidency. [...]
[...] THE President has designated the following as officers-in-charge of Cabinet portfolios left vacant with the resignation this morning of eight of her Secretaries, who had also called on her to resign. Arroyo said in a statement issued also late today that she will announce her new Cabinet appointees in the next two days. [...]
These cabinet members should earn our respect for being patriotic. They sacrificed personal interest for national interest. These cabinet members should have earned triple their pay in the private sector but chose to be with government despite its low pay. MABUHAY KAYONG LAHAT.
[...] FIRST she spoke extemporaneously, saying no matter what flak she will again get, she will speak. Former president Corazon Aquino, after a celebration of the Holy Mass at the De La Salle University in Manila, said she had no choice. Aquino then praised the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) for what she said was their careful discernment of what it is they must tell their flock. “They are risk-takers,” she said of the bishops. The former president lauded as well the former Cabinet members who on July 8 resigned and called on Arroyo to quit. “They could have just kept quiet but they deemed their duty was to us the Filipino people. We need more Filipinos like them.” [...]
kaya sila nag-resign kasi hindi na nila masikmura yung boss nila.it’s not right to accuse them of power-grabbing or destabilizing just because they resigned.hindi naman sila trapo e.si secretary boncodin nga sumasakay lang ng bus(from a reliable source).they resigned because gma stopped the implementation of e-vat,siya ang humarang at nag-utos sa supreme court.tapos ang palalabasin yung opposition ang humarang.ilang buwan pinagtrabahuhan ng economic team ang e-vat.tapos biglang babawiin lang pala ni gma para magpa-good shot?kasi sa tingin ko lalong magagalit ang tao sa kanya pag tinuloy ang e-vat.ok,let’s face it,talagang kailangan na ngang ipasa sa mamamamyan para hindi bumagsak ang ekonomiya natin.oo,sige ok na nga kahit hindi ok.tapos babawiin lang???o c’mon, madam gloria…ECONOMIC SABOTAGE!!!sayang, yung matitino pa ang nawala sa cabinet.tsk, tsk, tsk…
