It is frustrating to see their faces on the tarpaulin instead of the prescribed information like name of project, date of implementation,amount of contract, source/s of fund, among other things. Our latest offering is a series on the failed promises, the statistical inconsistencies in government economic data, and by all indications, the illusory growth that nine years of the Arroyo Administration leave as a legacy to the Filipino people.

Part 1 of the story reveals how the Philippines had, in fact, recorded declines in education and employment figures.

The second part of the report reveals findings of a study published June 2009 in the Philippine Review of Economics that dismiss claims of economic growth by the government as overstated, and based on inconsistent data sets. The National Statistical Coordination Board admits as much.

Meanwhile, with the public turning a critical eye on the administration’s programs and policies, several organization have issued statements about various issues ahead of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address on Monday:

The public has always turned a critical eye upon the government, the people have been hard pressed to give their trust as it is.
Its sad that so few venture to give comments on this site. thank you though, as long as people put it out there someone has to read it.
