Bakit natatakot ang mga militar sa kanya? bakit natin bigyan ng respeto ang EO na yan. Pekeng pangulo walang mandato.

PGMA has a point in her EO, congress should really be able to respect the separation between the Executive and the legislature and understand that heads of executive departments, secretaries, are accountable to the president only.

My beef with the EO is that it is inconsistent with PGMA’s call for a constitutional redesign (in her words, to correct systemic defects in our political system). For a president who has espoused her advocacy for parliamentary government and who urged everyone to start the “great” constitutional debate, her true colors have just surfaced with this EO as it clearly indicates as least two things–her predilection to issue policy statements out of convenience without really understanding the repercussions of such statements and the maximal extent of operations of her cabal of legal consultants, public image experts, dirty and rough tricks experts, and control freaks as this group seems to be churning out everything in a huff—from propaganda materials (expensive tarpauline hallelujahs to the chief around the metropolis, countless praise releases), legal cases filed against opponents, walking papers given to obstructionist bureaucrats, and now, Executive Orders design to make executive appointive officials solely accountable to the Chief whose ass they have licked and whose egos have been constantly massaged by an increasingly captured President.

Now that the President is implementing efforts to weaken the very same Congress that we so reviled, bigla na lang we exhibit indignation against this action and stand behind this Congress.

Yet another irony as only the Philippines can produce.

Simple lang yan. At the end of the day, Doña Gloria is the most reviled amongst the current crop of politicians in the country today. Kung baga e, buwaya man ang tingin sa mga congressmen, Satanas na ang imahe ni Gloria sa sambayanan.

Sa tinging ko, si Gloria Arroyo ay mas masahol pa kay Pres. Marcos dahil si Pres. Marcos tinatawag niya ang Martial Law as Martial Law si Gloria Arroyo ayaw pa nyang tawaging Martial Law ang kanyang mga ginagawa para di sya mahuli.

Hanggang ba dito sinungaling sya?! Eh, teka, bakit ko pa tinatanong yung, alam naman natin na sinungaling sya!

Bengino,hindi naman lahat ng senador at congressmen hawak ni gloria. tuloy pa naman ang mga imbestigasyon ng mga diffrent committees sa mga anomalya ng gobyerno kaya dapat lang na kondenahin etong bagong EO ni gloria.

pansin ko dumadami na talaga ang problema ni gloria. nagsusulputan na. dami na siyang tauhan na di sumusunod sa kanya. wrong move after wrong moves pa ginagawa niya. pag komontra, tanggal. etong tinanggal aangal dahil illegal and politically motivated ang dahilan. lalabas sa media at magkakaroon ng symphaty sa tao. mas madami tuloy naglalabasan na baho ni gloria. kaya di niya na talaga nagagampanan ang trabaho niya bilang presidente at para mapalakad ng maayos ang gobyerno. nauubos na oras niya at ng mga bataan niya sa pagtatanggol ng sarili para di matanggal sa puwesto. wala pa akong nakitang presidenteng nagkaroon ng ganito kadaming problema. kahit sa time ata ni marcos hindi siya namroblema ng ganito. malamang di man siya mapatalsik ng tao, masiraan naman ng ulo dahil di na makatulog at makakain. so ang labas natanggal dahil mentaly incapacitated na si gloria. tingin ko lang ganon mangyayari. just a matter of time. :).

What’s next, immunity from charges in court of gov’t officials owing to the separation of powers clause? Whatever happened to the principle of checks and balance?

Tomorrow, after the UP Law Center members are done with their testimony in the Senate, they will join the other honorable public servants who are newly-unemployed, and for sure, they will be replaced by nominees of the Firm.

I would like to suggest that any journalist keeping tab of the recent pronouncements, orders, and policies of the present overstaying visitor in Malacañang to provide us a list of the same so that the moment this Cheat ExecuThief is removed, she will have to answer to the people for all her sins, venial and mortal. I don’t care if it happens tomorrow, next week, next year, or in 2010.

She won’t escape the inevitable.

kahit ano pa ang ibigay na EO ng “questionable president” eh wala naman pupuntahan. she can’t control everyone. sa mga pag-issue ng mga ganyang EO, i think yun din sisira sa kanya(mas lalo pa, kasi sira na sya).

There is a separtaion of the excecutive, congress and judiciary. It is there in our constitution so that there will be check and balances. By coming up with the EO she basically wants to be not in a democracy but an authoritarian government.

What is she hiding? If she is not hiding anything why is she preventing her officials to speak?

It goes to show that she is guilty of lying & cheating? and the sad thing is we are letting her get away with it, by not doing anything!

He is at least one general who refuses to obey an illegal order and was more than willing to show by example, what a good officer and gentleman should be. Now that takes courage.

The EO is obviously unconstitutional. Legal experts should question it before the Supreme Court.

For instance, you say that we Filipinos are not as entrepreneurial as the Chinese. The question is why? Was there a genetic lottery that gave the Chinese entrepreneurial genes but not the Filipinos? Or was it some other factor, and what aspects of it created an entrepreneurial culture? Can we replicate the conditions? What are those conditions?

This comment on Chinese being enterprenurial lot than any other race is lots of bull. How could they be when all businesses in China is owned and contolled by their government. The commercial accomplishment of Chinese in the philippines happened because they are already Filipinos not anymore Chinese.

Other authors such as Samuel Huntington and Jared Diamond also propose more comrehensive and more scholarly theories about how the disparity in commercial success between cultures came about.

On the other hand, one simple fact remains regardless of the WHY part — that we are what we are today — a society on the brink of failure, a chonic laggard, and subservient to commercially successful subcultures within our society. A situation shared by a country like Malaysia. The only difference is that they have the degree of introspection to recognise this situation in an official capacity as Mahathir himself articulates in his “Malay Dilemma” rantings here:

Kung baga, we can rack our brains and point fingers at every doodad to explain why we are what we are today, but it won’t change the fact that we are what we are, that we need to RECOGNISE this, and to build solutions based on what we have come to terms with as our national character.

Hindi na kailangan i-challenge sa supreme court yan, it is an obvious veiled threat sa mga potential witness against Un-Gloria.

Siguro, hinde na nila kayang hawakan ang senado that is why ate Un-Gloria started using EO as a “Soft Touch” approach.

gma’s intentions are very obvious for issuing that EO: She wanted to protect herself! bukong-buko na kasi. she should have also been ordered detained by the senate along with her national security adviser.

Yung EO means ENTITLED OBSTRUCTION while CPR means CURTAIL RIGHTS OF PEOPLE. These practices only shows us how far the administration will go to cling on to power. Basura na talaga ang gobyernong ito. This EO was issued to protect the rights of the people in the executive branch, but what about the CPR, sila lang ba ang may “rights”? As far as I know, the Bill of Rights is not exclusive to a few but to all.

Majority congressmen back the EO. GMA and her spindoctors told the pro-impeachment congressmen to bring the complaints against her to the proper forum and refrain from using media to try her by publicity.

Look who’s using the media now…. The dept. secretaries who were invited to the senate to shed light on the controversial NorthRail project did not attend citing EO 464. These secretaries instead held a presscon and explained this project to newsmen. Why not explain your side in the proper venue. Stop using the media daw, pero pag sila pwede. This administration is full of liars and cheats out to grind our country to the ground.

Palace spindoctors also said that Pres. Aquino had used this EO before…Another lie, it was a Memorandum Order, meaning an internal matter and is only limited to dept. secretaries and has attached guidelines.

GMA is a tyrant by refusing to be transparent. The public deserves to know how the gov’t. spends regardless of how these informations are revealed or acquired. Her continuing blunders has put her on the defensive again.

Once again GMA has painted herself to a corner. She’s running out of options. She may have survived the impeachment in the lowerhouse but the series of hearings in the senate has brought out the allegations she had managed to avoid in congress. I don’t care anymore if these hearings were in aid of legislation or to “fry” GMA, for as long as the truth will come out. Her attackdogs and mouthpieces can bad-mouth the senate for all I care, like I said, “truth comes out even in the weirdest ways”.

EO 464 is definitely repressive and therefore unconstitutional. Besides, what is there to clear from the office of the president when someone is called by congress to shed light on certain issues? Not unless the president is trying to cover-up something the public should not know.
