- Keith Bacongco: Knowing Nograles and his Big Boss...garapalan na lang talaga.

- Lead Philippines: But without credible mass media there, what is left to protect the people..?
- vonjobi: it's juned sOniDo.
Untouchable po ba sila cory at danding at hindi magawang batikusin ng media about these two massacres?
- hopeless_race : Its sad that we pinoys are blind to the fact of what had happened in mendiola and hacienda luisita.
- hopeless_race : Wilkins" brand, for P1.4 billion.-1999 Sugarland Multi-Food Corp. for P2.9 billion 2001- Purefoods Corp P7 billion P60 billion Coca-Cola ... See More 2002- Cosmos Bottling Corp. from RFM Corp. for P14.1 billion October 2008- GSIS' shares in Meralco worth PHP30 Billion. December 2008- country's biggest oil refiner, Petron Corporation. international company shopping spree: Australian boutique brewer J. - guest_899 : we must check the background of each potential candidates to avoid having another big mistake like GMA
- guest_899 : congratulations to PCIJ, more power and God Bless !
- jazzymuver : how did Arroyo swallow that kind of things!! how come that she just spend the money our countrymen for her own sake!!
- guest_3664 : i would be glad if u can include the investigation of the manner public officials announce infra projects as per COA regulation. It is frustrating to see their faces on the tarpaulin instead of the prescribed information like name of project, date of implementation, amount of contract, source/s of fund, among other things. This is very rampant here in Marikina. Thanks and more power on your noble endeavors. We need people like you to have make our country great again.

Edsa 20/20: Rene A.V. Saguisag

‘WE cannot give up on the only country we have’
Saguisag was one of many human-rights lawyers who defended the rights of political dissidents during the Marcos era. Having provided advice to Cory Aquino, several of these lawyers were roped into her Cabinet when she became president in 1986. Saguisag was elected senator in 1987 but dropped out of politics when his term ended. Today he still takes off-the-beaten-track legal forays, defending a wide range of clients, including former president Joseph Estrada. He is still the quixotic dissenter, the quintessential lone voice in the wilderness.
In this podcast, Cecile Balgos interviews Saguisag. Listen here.

‘WE cannot give up on the only country we have’
We must not give up nor give in.
We must rise up and dig in,
We must not take flight but make a stand and fight
We must save and lift up the only country we have,
In end it is the only country we can call our home, our land, our people.
Rene A.V. Saguisag sense of DELICADESA is unmatched up to this moment. It’s regretable that he declined the Supreme Court Justice
position out of delicadesa. While others move heaven and earth to get to the bench, here’s a respectable man who refused the seat. We need more public administrators with the highest sense of DELICADESA like
Rene Saguisag. MORE POWER TO YOU, SIR !!!
great article. after EDSA , we were inspired to go to law school. before that , we were just kids in a daze. former senator saguisag had a case and called me when i was chief of DFA passports, and i had the good fortune to tell him that he inspired us all during EDSA.
he said, ” pañero, don’t make me feel so ancient …”
great man, great anniversary article, great magazine. mabuhay PCIJ and may you inspire more younger kids.

EDSA Revolution not to be forgotten, AND EDSA Revolution is going to
HAPPEN again.
EDSA 4 is brewing, Take note the initials of four personalities that meet in a mass recently in San Juan :
E- strada
D-rilon
S-usan
A-quino
I hope the next government will get back to the government the likes of Atty. Rene Saguisag.
There is a larger country to which we all belong.
It is a Republic of Eternal Principles.
R.A.V. Saguisag is a patriot of that ancient nation.
He is a peaceful man, but not with tyranny.
He has forebearance, but knows its limits.
Mark him!
i have always esteemed atty. rene saguisag for his integrity, principles and as lokalokang matino said, delicadesa. specially when he did not run again for senator. he has shown his lack of interest in power and wealth which other greedy politicians wouldn’t have passed the chance. a very simple man others may hit him for representing “wrong” clients but i understand him. he is a lawyer at heart. this is the kind of person that we would love to have as a public servant. indeed more power to the man.
i may not always agree with r.a.v. saguisag brand of politics,
i may be dismayed with his choice of clients, from time to time,
but, i definitely have the highest regard for this gentleman;
may your tribe increase !
astig! nakita ko yan one time.. na naka taxi on the way to one of gov’t office sa qc…. may we all be inspired.. i know madaming Rene Saguisag dyan sa tabi tabi..
atty. renee saguisag is one person who has dignity, pride and honor to our country. we ordinary citizens respect him and look forward to see him continue serve us in his own humble way. sana magtagal pa ang kagaya ni atty. rene saguisag. maraming salamat po. God bless you sir!
Atty. Saguisag is one of the rare celebrity and high caliber lawyer that patiently fall in line while waiting for one of his pro-bono case to be heard inside a small and crowded court in Mandaluyong. Yup, I saw him patiently waiting without a hint of arrogance.
Let’s not make this thread as some sort of obituary please. Mr. Rene is still with us doing his part. And hopefully he doesn’t cop out like another good man, Mr. Paredes.
We definitely need more people like him. As for us, let’s also do our part.
jon mariano,
this forum has been accused, more than once, of being too quick to criticize or find fault in our leaders.
no, the above comments expresses balance- we heap praises to those who are truly deserving.
no, they cannot be obit. would you rather praise a man for a good deed done when he is in another world? or when he still lucid and sane.
truth is, the dead does not need obituaries- it is the living left by the dead that wants to hear them.
