Just heard Chiz and Digs with the same script on different radio programs. Of course, their scripts wouldn’t hold water but nonetheless given credibility by the radio programs.

Geez.. wire tapping is illegal, yet someone can wiretap the President.

Everyone believes PGMA cheated in the past election. Everyone believes that everybody cheated in the past election. What’s important is something that can be taken to court, which the wiretaps do not present. It will remain therefore as gossip.

I am just wondering if this one is just a diversionary tactic of Malacanang to remove the focus of the people from the issue of jueteng involving the First Gentleman and the son?

if this were a diversionary tactic, it’s only succeeding in diverting from one catastrophe to another. if this were some pr guy’s tactic to take the heat off gma then he might as well have pushed her off a precipice.

the doj secretary is acting more and more like a personal attorney for the arroyos. i guess this is double payback time.

being able to bring evidence to the courts is not a factor here. what will be crucial is what the public sentiment would be. if the public is (finally) roused to conclude that gma and her family are up to no good to a “nakakasuka level” then that’s it, she’s done.

Overyone believed that GMA cheated during the last election. Therefore, the mass circulation of this tape and the panicky (read: stupid) response by Malacanang by substantiating it through a “preemptive release” by Secretary Bunye would further send the GMA government down the hole.

Shall we now start a countdown to this callous government?

And then what? Replace it with the opposition who is as just dirty as well? I am not saying we are not against the incumbents, but it’s like a lose-lose situation out there.

Granting what Feeb said was correct, then it invalidates this present regimes assumption to power in the first place.

The arguement that it is not right to replace a dirty government with one that is as dirty is the same thing that happened when Erap’s government was replaced. Why would we condone a government that replaced a previous dirty one when it is as dirty as its predecesor?

If we are to carry on with this philosophy then no change could ever come to our nation as it stagnates with the current corruption in government. The democratic principle that a government is of the people, by the people and for the people is the reason why we should always be vigilant in checking those who govern us. This is our government in the first place and the only reason why we wallow in this shit we are in is that we stay mum underneath the asses of our so-called leaders

We do not know for now who will lead us in the future, but I would be more content that I’ll not be led by someone who had cheated in one of the most sacred democratic institution that is the elections.

So much have been said.. the question is, if there was cheating last election why that tape just come out only now.. Bakit pinagsabay sa jueteng issue. Could that be diversionary tactic or there’s some people out there to destabilize the present government. Our political situation had normalize the past months then here they go again, they are trowing everything to bring down the present government where foreign investors keep on coming. Why don’t they offer solution to problems our government is facing.

Why Sen. Pimentel is keep on talking on every issue? Bakit siya bumaligtad sa Jose velarde issue. Did he forget Clarissa Ocampo, who witnessed Erap signed as Jose Velarde. They better stop politicking. There’s a lot of things to do in the senate rather than investigating in aid of legislation. They just wasting people’s hard earned money. If they have the evidences they have to file them directly to the proper court. People are tired of too much politics. That’s why we cannot blame if more of our kababayans left our country. Too much politics drive away investors and even our kababayans.

Both parties cheated during the election, which many are amenable (and in a TV show when the opposition were asked if they did not cheated, there was just silence, and as we were taught in class silence means yes ). When my friends and I are discussing this, we finally settle down that no government leaders so far, not even any opposition parties had made significant changes to develop the country because it’s in the system already. Individual changes, persistence, and industry are needed more than who is in position. Anyways, I think this one is a diversionary tactic. Why, you ask? Because everyone is discussing this topic right now hehehe.

am radio stations are playing apparently longer versions of the tape/s and one portion not included in the bunye-released tape/s cite a portion where gary/garcillano tells presumably fg mike arroyo that he wants the family of one “rufo/rufus” abducted by one “wahab” because the former apparently wants to be a witness in a dagdag-bawas complaint against gma.

if things are taken as they are, the First Family - within the context of Philippine realpolitik - is apparently not only involved in money laundering, jueteng, poll rigging but also kidnapping?

i think
1. both parties cheated during the elections. what we hear are the normal conversations going on during this process. She sounded more like a general commanding her troops because she knows that in the philippines elections is WAR. Do i agree with it of course not and to think that this will keep on frightens me.
2. they must really think the people are total idiots to believe their denials such as Garcy(llano) but the opposition with escudero does not really give a viable alternative. So who do we see at the united opposition meeting… Maceda, Jv, Honasan…. oh my God they will kick out gloria to put in someone from those guys???
3. i feel bad that GMA found herself in a bind like this. There are really costs to leadership. She seems to be really trying her best. Damn all those special interest groups. If i was her do an elizabeth. Or the least a Thacher. Admit to the people that this things are part of our growing pains. I think the people will understand. We know all those things are going on. even in the jueteng issue those things mentioned is common knowledge to ordinary folks. Don’t try to make fools of ordinary folks. Otherwise you lose.

Well what we are seeing now is what Marcos did to this country, Remember 1972. It took us 14 years 1986 to oust this dictator. What we have is a person in government who doesn’t have the mandate of the people. I just wonder what Nonoy Acquino would be thinking now. Cory Acquino got cheated the same way. Why is she so quiet now.

I’m just wondering why people went luddite and claimed the alleged difficulty of wiretapping into digital cellular phone lines.

The majority of software and hardware equipment of local telcos’ infrastructures here are imported from overseas such as the United States and the equipment has been rendered wire-tap friendly to aid law enforcement in its effort to conduct surveillance of digital telephone networks.

Actually our cellular phone technology is based on GSM a European standard. Yes there are means of tapping the call made but it would require very sophisticated equipment. Only government law enforcement agencies can purchase and operate it. Tapping a wireless phone is like having a cloned SIM of the person you want to tap. They say a GSM phone can never be cloned. Well if you know how terrorist are being tracked when they make satellite phone calls (Abu Sayaff rescue). Then your guess is as good as mine who is very capable of doing it.

when somebody uses the excuse of “well, the other side cheated rin naman eh”, it only shows na the one making that statement is

a) admitting that his/her candidate cheated
b) it’s okay to cheat because the other side “did it too”.

US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is said to be quite disdainful of Mrs. Arroyo, who only pretended to stand with America in order to win an invitation to the White House and be in place to take the 2004 elections.

Her swift capitulation to terrorists in Iraq has certainly led to no increased security for OFWs there and elsewhere, as subsequent kidnappings prove. What’s worse is, our friends around the world have surely put us down in the column that many of Filipinos themselves have always put the Makapili traitors of Pampanga in. Those traitors were not black and white evil-doers in cahoots with the Kempetai. Unfortunately we are all Makapilis now, thanks to GMA, who in effect said, “Don’t kill my Filipino children [or my political career], kill the Japanese instead, behead the Poles and Koreans and Brits and Americans, but not us, with our tails between our legs.”

I think the latter have finally had enough of her, knowing that a corrupt President of a failed Republic is a terrible security risk and a source of great danger to them and us. They are afraid the upcoming “peace treaty” with the MILF will fling Mindanao’s doors wide open to the Jemaah Islamiyah and other Al Qaeda nihilists who see the possibility of a vast expansion of their murderous enterprise in the lands that ring the vastness of Sulu-Sulawesi seas. And the clumsy, deluded attempt to balance China against America whilst opening up the archipelago’s precious under sea realms to them just reeks of her ka-plastikan…

Well did you hear MBC’s(Makati Business Club) Mr. Luz in ABS-CBN? He sounds like he wants the job of Mr. Bunye. I say let him have it. These people welcomes cheating in the election. Well their business probably exist because they also apply the same cheating ways.

gma is not lily-pure in this, so dont feel bad for her. there’s a duality about her: she works hard but she makes decisions based on less than stellar or noble motivations, like appointing the 2 comelec commissioners with questionable credantials, not reigning in her husband and son (and brother-in-law), junking a productive party-mate for her green, alias-using brother-in-law, standing by nani perez amidst allegations of money laundering etc.

all this talk about the tapes (faked original and originally fake) will ultimatley lead to nothing. sure, most people are fed up with GMA as shown by her negative ratings and believed that FPJ won as shown by SWS surveys. But… the usual and more effective sectors are silent.
the church, the mainstream media people (who are only obliged to report the tapes because of its being newsworthy), the civil society and the left… Pity the Filipino people, pero tiisan na lang.WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE –IT IS IN THE POWERLESS MASSES.

Well looks like Tita Cory who once was a victim of electoral fraud supports cheating. Lets just hope Ninoy Aquino will be able to understand her actions.

GMA has always been a cheat. while working with DTI she has been “really good” to people close to her to the point of withdrawing/blocking admin cases to these people. case in point is one of her alleged “close friends” while still working with dti as sec.: this friend of hers uses the the government as a milking cow for his family’s gas expenses, evrytime he pumps gas to his vehicle his son tags along for free gas. for some reason they were caught redhanded. papers were built up against this person but never materialized due to GMA’s intervention. now she is becoming a monster of a president!!!

Well the military and police are still singing GMA’s tune. Lets see how long it will last. The money will eventually flowing and when that happens……I think the next step GMA has to do so the money continues flowing is to start jeuteng operations again which Bishop Cruz would closely watch

GMA will surely stay silent on the wiretap controversy. Her only way out is to let those standing agaist her exhaust their legal means, which will only be through congressional hearings, where she has the majority as political allies.

If the hearings commenses without any triggering event to catapult another EDSA revolt, she will succeed in eluding this controversy and will let the issue die down as other national issues are being fabricated for Filipino’s consumption.

Or even if a triggering event would happen, mass actions will have much difficulty in turning into successful revolt since her PNP’s and Militaries are always put into high alerts with high presense on the ground, let her thank her lessons from EDSA III and Oakwood.

And if more public clamor would occur to ask for justice on this eletoral fraud, the administration would have the reason to unleash martial law.

GMA could exhaust all her means to elude persecution but truth and justice will find its way to penetrate and crash her fraud government.

Now that GMA has admitted that it’s her on the recordings the NBI and the other “law enforcement agencies” will now have to tell us what they will do next about the wiretapping case. Is the president going to formally complain that her phone call to “an official of the COMELEC” was illegally recorded apparently by military intelligence agents?

On the side, may we suggest that the PCIJ and other responsible media entities make available the recording of the President’s remarks last night? It would be a great service for us to be able to closely listen to the voice of the chief executive as she confesses about her “lapse of judgement”.

I will not be surprised if the latest incarnation of the Hello Garci ringtone will be the back-to-back splicing of “Hello, Garci?…. I am sorry…”

At least this time, we are certain the latest recording was not illegally wiretapped….

lest it be forgotten, gloria’s legitimacy as the president is still in question. the fifteen (15) lapses in judgment she made after most of the senators-elect were proclaimed and before the presidential winner was proclaimed attest to this fact. up to now gloria has not answered all the questions she is asked. she and her cohorts buried the forum for this opportunity and to this day, they are continuing to let the truth rot deeper underground.

no amount of surveys (as if gloria really believes in them…what say she with her dismal approval ratings and that majority of Filipinos want her out? – the trouble is that she is not only a “transactional” president but “selective” as well) will erase in the minds of those who really listened to the tapes how she made a fool of herself and raped the very institution the Filipinos considered sacred (not to mention the destruction she did to the office of the president and armed services). gloria acknowledged it’s her voice (though, like mawanay, mahusay, doble, etc., she is trying to recant - her “i am sorry” spiel) and her lawyer tongue-slipped it was garcillano (the great escapist) on the other line.

in short, she flunked the 4-way test! i believe each and every Filipino should listen to the tapes and then ask themselves: did she lie, did she cheat, did she steal, and did she do a cover-up? before anything else…before defending her…before we move on…

before we say it’s not right to air our grievances…NOT to her, of course! for in the first place, she is not our president.
