MARC MONREAL

I RARELY comment on any blog or article, but to this issue; well I can't help it. Why are Pinoys getting fatter and not healthier? You even have to ask. I remember visiting the Philippines years ago, and I asked that same question, on why are the kids so fat. I was told that it is a sign of "wealth". Since Pinoys are so fond of showing off "money" (that they either have or don't have), displaying their "fat kids" somehow caters to their pride and tends their insecurities. This should be of no surprise to the observant ones. But trends will be trends and like I observed, Pinoys are really good at following them. This one, unfortunately, is at the expense of the peoples (childrens) health.
